St Andrews Castle Course

The Castle Course at St Andrews is one of seven golf courses in the coastal town of St Andrews, Fife, Scotland. The course is relatively new, having opened in 2008, but it has already become a popular destination for golf enthusiasts.

The Castle Course offers spectacular views of St Andrews, the surrounding coastline, and the North Sea. The course is located on the clifftops overlooking St Andrews and is known for its challenging holes and fast greens.

The course was designed by architect David McLay Kidd and features steep slopes, blind shots, and plenty of bunkers. The first four holes of the course are played on the coastal cliffs and offer breath-taking views of the town and the sea below.

The course has 18 holes and is over 7,000 yards in length. The course is relatively hilly, with significant elevation changes on several holes. Golf carts are not allowed on the course, which adds to the unique challenge of the Castle Course.

Aside from the challenging holes and stunning views, the Castle Course also offers excellent facilities for golfers. There is a fully equipped driving range, a practice putting green, and a clubhouse with a restaurant and bar.

The Castle Course is open to visitors all year round, and tee times can be booked in advance. As with many golf courses in St Andrews, tee times can be in high demand, particularly during peak season. It is advisable to book tee times well in advance to avoid disappointment.

Overall, the Castle Course at St Andrews is a must-play destination for any golf enthusiast. The course's challenging holes, stunning views, and excellent facilities make it a perfect place to visit anytime. Whether you are a seasoned golfer or just a curious visitor, a visit to the Castle Course is sure to be a memorable experience.
